In short
For SoundCloud mastering, start from your finished mix, not a loud bounce. Upload it here, pick a sound profile, adjust Intensity, EQ and Input Gain, then compare Original and Mastered and read the report. Members can download WAV or MP3, and SoundCloud accepts both. Previewing is free and needs no sign-in.
What this page covers
SoundCloud mastering here means one narrow job: take a finished track of your own and get it ready to upload. The tool has no SoundCloud connection, so it never reads your account or posts anything. You master the song, download the result, and upload that file yourself.
The mastering uses automated presets, not a trained AI model. They work on the whole song: tone with EQ, dynamics with compression, and level with a limiter. Fixing a single instrument is a different job, and it belongs in the mix itself.
SoundCloud mastering starts with the file you export
What you bring decides most of what you get back, so check the export first.
- Export the whole song as one file. The tool takes a completed mono or stereo mix, not separate stems.
- Prefer WAV or AIFF. The upload box also accepts FLAC and MP3. If an MP3 is all you have, it works, but converting an MP3 to WAV will not bring back detail the MP3 already threw away.
- Leave room at the top. A bounce that already touches full scale leaves little to work with. The report adds a note when the highest sample of your upload is at or very near full scale: "The input is near full scale. This tool cannot restore information lost to clipping."
- Don't make the export loud first. In standard mode the engine moves your track to an internal working level before it processes anything, so a modest-level export is fine.
- Stay inside the limits. Files can be up to 200 MB and 10 minutes. Silent files, or files whose level is too low, are rejected.
Files up to 48 kHz keep their sample rate. Anything higher is resampled to 48 kHz before processing.
Which file goes where
| Stage | File | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Export from your DAW | Full-mix WAV or AIFF | The tool also takes FLAC and MP3, up to 200 MB and 10 minutes |
| Download from this tool | 24-bit WAV, 16-bit WAV or 320 kbps MP3 | Members only. The file name ends in "-mastered" |
| Upload to SoundCloud | WAV or MP3 | Both are on SoundCloud's supported-format list, and its help page recommends lossless files |
The SoundCloud row comes from its Upload Requirements help page, read on 2026-10-28. It lists WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC and MP3 among the formats it accepts and recommends uploading lossless formats such as WAV, FLAC, AIFF or ALAC.
Between the two WAV options, 24-bit keeps the master as it was rendered. The 16-bit export adds dither when it reduces the bit depth. Choose the MP3 only when a small file matters more than keeping everything.
How to do SoundCloud mastering in 3 steps
Upload your finished mix
Drop your WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3 on the upload box. Use the best version you have, the full song as a single file. The processing runs in your browser. Keep the page open until saving finishes.
Set the profile, Intensity, EQ and Input Gain
Choose one of eight sound profiles: Universal, Fire, Clarity, Tape, Natural, Spatial, Cinematic or Punch. Intensity runs from 0 to 100 in steps of 10. Each of the low, mid and high EQ bands moves up to 6 dB either way. Input Gain, the button beside Loop that shows the current dB, runs from −20 to +20 dB, and Auto puts it back at 0.0 dB. It changes the level going into the processing chain, before EQ and compression, and it is greyed out while you listen to Original.
Check the report, then download and upload
Switch between Original and Mastered, then open "Audio details & processing report" under the player. Compare Loudness (LUFS) and Estimated true peak (dBTP) for both. Members pick 24-bit WAV, 16-bit WAV or 320 kbps MP3, which costs $9.90 USD a month and renews until canceled. Upload the downloaded file to SoundCloud yourself.
Choosing a profile for SoundCloud mastering
The eight profiles are starting points, not rules. Audition a few on your own track, in quiet and busy sections alike.
- Universal: balanced tone with gentle compression, a safe place to begin.
- Natural: gentle compression for a lighter touch, for mixes that already feel finished.
- Clarity: brighter highs with less low-mid weight, for a mix that sounds dull or thick in the low mids.
- Punch: added low-end weight and punch, for tracks that feel soft.
- Tape: warm tone with gentle saturation.
- Fire: added weight, brighter highs and stronger compression.
- Cinematic: fuller lows with added saturation.
- Spatial: wider stereo with a touch of reverb.
Set Intensity after the profile. Higher values push harder.
What the report tells you before you upload
The report under the player keeps you honest, because it measures the file instead of describing it. The table shows Loudness (LUFS), Estimated true peak (dBTP) and Sample rate for Original and Mastered. Read it like this:
- Compare, don't chase. The two columns show what mastering did to your song. They are not scores against any service.
- Mastered figures are for the base render. They come from the profile at Intensity 50 with flat EQ, plus your Input Gain, which triggers a fresh render. Intensity and EQ moves are heard live but not measured again, so the table can drift from what you hear.
- True peak is an estimate. It comes from four-times oversampling and is not a certified meter.
- Read the notes line. It warns when the input is near full scale or has a low crest factor, which means dynamic compression was reduced.
This page gives no loudness number to aim for. The tool has no loudness-target control, and the report's notes describe its loudness targets as "experimental starting points, not platform delivery standards". For a longer walk through the two measurements, see what the loudness and peak figures mean.
What to upload after SoundCloud mastering
- Listen to the download, not just the preview. The download is rendered at your current settings, so play it from start to finish before you upload it.
- Keep your unmastered export. You can start again from the source if you change your mind.
- Listen on more than one system. Play the download on headphones and a phone speaker before you upload it.
- Quiet is not a reason to push harder. If the song is only quiet, your options for a quiet track are worth reading before you raise Intensity.
SoundCloud situations and how to handle them
A demo bounced in a hurry
Re-export the session as WAV if you can. A fresh export beats mastering an MP3 of an MP3.
A mix that already clips
Mastering will not rebuild flattened peaks. Go back to the session, pull the level down and export again. The report's near-full-scale note is your cue.
A long mix or full set
The tool stops at 10 minutes and 200 MB, so a longer file is rejected. Check the length before you spend time on settings.
A song you only want to hear
Previewing is free, so audition profiles first and download only the version you would upload.
The honest limits
- It never touches your SoundCloud account. You download and upload the file yourself.
- There is no loudness target. You cannot enter a LUFS figure, and the limiter's ceiling is fixed at −1.5 dB with no threshold or ratio control.
- It cannot repair the mix. A vocal that is too quiet or two parts masking each other should be fixed first, as fix it in the mix first explains.
- Results depend on the source. Presets shape tone and dynamics. They cannot restore missing notes or remove severe distortion.
- The report is a snapshot. The Mastered figures describe the base render, and the true peak is estimated.
- SoundCloud mastering has size limits here. Songs can be up to 10 minutes and 200 MB, and downloads need the membership.
- Unsaved audio is lost when the page closes. Keep the page open until cloud saving finishes, or download the master.
SoundCloud mastering FAQ
How do I master a track for SoundCloud?
Export a finished mix, upload it here, choose a sound profile, adjust Intensity, EQ and Input Gain, then compare Original and Mastered. After checking the report, download your master and upload that file to SoundCloud.
Which file should I export before mastering?
A full-mix WAV or AIFF is best. The tool also takes FLAC and MP3, up to 200 MB and 10 minutes, mono or stereo. Converting an MP3 to WAV will not restore lost detail, so start from the original export when you can.
Which format should I upload to SoundCloud after mastering?
WAV or MP3, both of which SoundCloud lists as supported. Its help page recommends lossless files, so the 24-bit or 16-bit WAV is the natural choice. Choose the 320 kbps MP3 only when file size matters.
Is it free?
You can upload, try all eight profiles, adjust Intensity and EQ, and compare Original with Mastered at no cost, without signing in. Taking the mastered file away needs the $9.90 USD monthly membership, which renews until canceled.
Does this tool upload to SoundCloud or need my login?
No. It has no SoundCloud connection and never asks for your account. You download the mastered file and upload it to SoundCloud yourself.
What loudness should I aim for?
This page gives no number, and the tool has no loudness-target control. Use the report to compare Original and Mastered, and trust your ears on headphones and speakers.
Can mastering fix a clipped or muddy mix?
No. Clipped peaks cannot be rebuilt, and balance problems belong in the mix. The report flags a near-full-scale input, which is the sign to go back and export again.
Are my uploads stored?
Mastering runs in your browser, and then your source audio, masters, settings and reports are uploaded to private cloud history. Saved results stay until deletion is requested or storage is discontinued with notice, so keep a separate copy of anything you need.
