FAQ

Suno mastering
FAQs.

Do Suno songs need mastering?

Not every Suno song needs more processing. Listen to the finished mix first: are the lows balanced, are the highs comfortable, and do quiet and busy sections feel consistent? Mastering can help refine tone, dynamics and final level when there is a clear issue to address. If the original already sounds balanced, a gentle setting—or no extra processing—may be the better choice.

Can mastering remove AI artifacts?

Mastering is not AI artifact repair. It processes the finished mix and may make some harshness less noticeable, but it cannot reliably remove distorted vocals, metallic textures, clicks, missing detail or other generation artifacts. Stronger compression or brighter EQ can make those problems more obvious. Fix or regenerate the source where possible, then use mastering for the final balance.

Should I use WAV or MP3 for mastering?

Use the highest-quality original export available. A lossless WAV is preferable because it avoids another stage of lossy encoding; FLAC and AIFF are also supported. If MP3 is your only source, upload that original file rather than repeatedly converting it. Converting MP3 to WAV does not restore detail already lost during encoding.

Why does my mastered song sound louder but not better?

A louder version can seem more impressive even when its tone or dynamics have not improved. Enable Match loudness in Studio, then compare the original and master at a similar listening level. Listen to a verse, chorus and busy passage for harshness, pumping, lost punch or fatigue. If the master sounds worse, reduce intensity, try a gentler preset such as Natural, or keep the original.

Can I import a Suno song link?

Paste a Suno song link or short share link (suno.com/s/…). The song must be accessible from its share page. If the song is unavailable or cannot be imported, download your audio from Suno and upload the file instead. Only import music you have permission to process.

Can I upload a downloaded Suno track?

Yes. Upload your downloaded track as WAV, MP3, FLAC or AIFF, up to 10 minutes long. Use the highest-quality source you have.

What can mastering improve in a Suno song?

Mastering can shape the tonal balance, dynamics, stereo image and loudness of a finished song. Explore the eight existing DSP presets and compare with the original to find the finish you prefer. Results depend on the source audio.

Will mastering change the vocals or arrangement?

No. Mastering processes the finished mix. It does not rewrite lyrics, replace vocals or rearrange instruments, and it cannot reliably repair severe generation artifacts.

Can I preview my master for free?

Yes. Uploading, standard processing and A/B previews are free. Mastered downloads and reference matching require the $9.90 USD monthly membership, which automatically renews until canceled.

Which formats can I download?

Members can download 24-bit WAV, 16-bit WAV or 320 kbps MP3. You can compare your original and mastered audio before choosing a download.
